PaintingParty #6
It may happen from time to time that several bodypainters meet and elaborate concepts and ideas for a collective art project. When artists collaborate as a team they can get together to fuse their creative energy and inspiration into a large piece of work. Each artist brings in his own style, knowledge and skills to result into a merging and unique art work.
That's exactly what happened April 14, 2012 in Lech near Munich: 1 photographer and 7 body artists, including the Luxembourg based artist Lynn Schockmel, came together again to paint 10 models to create a beautiful human Africa scene. The journey began, similar as for the last Chrismas Art project, with the decision on a topic idea and the painting design. The theme was designed in photoshop and printed upfront. At the day of the meeting each artist decided which elements or partial elements they would like to paint and the painting technique they are more comfortable with. Some were using airbrush, others had a preference for brushes or sponges. Later on it took some time to arrange the models on the floor to assure their shapes fit perfectly together to minimize gaps and create harmony. Once the models were assigned to a place, the painting began. It took more than 8 hours to paint all patient models. Of course each artist took care of their models and made sure they had eaten sufficiently and also if they had taken enough breaks. At the end of the journey everybody was exhausted but proud of the end result. Behind the scenes
