PaintingParty #5For the first time Lynn Schockmel, Luxembourg based body artist, worked on a collective art project with a group of artists and models. The goal was to create a huge piece of art on multiple bodies to photograph and print for Christmas cards. To work together in a team for collective arts, have a lot of advantages: Artists may share their equipment, space, skills and knowledge. Each artist brings in its own style and creativity to create a new unique art work. For this specific project at the date of November 12, 2011 in Lech near Munich, the team was built out of 1 photographer, 9 body artists and 10 models to create a beautiful human Christmas scene. The topic decision and design was already ready for weeks. The theme was designed in photoshop and printed upfront. Each artist decided which elements or partial elements they would like to paint. They also decided which painting technique to employ. Some were more comfortable using airbrush, others had a preference for brushes or sponges. Shortly after all models were arranged and alternated on the floor by the heads or feet upside down. This was important to assure their shapes fit perfectly together to minimize gaps and create harmony. Once the models were assigned to a spot, the painting began. It took more than 8 hours to paint all patient models. Of course each artist took care of their models and made sure they had eaten sufficiently and also if they had taken enough breaks. At the end of the journey everybody was exhausted but proud of the end result. CreditsName of the collective Art Project:
