The Luxembourg based bodypainter Lynn Schockmel took part of the 28th International Body Painting Contest organized by BIFFF in April 2013. BIFFF (The Brussels International Fantasy Film Festival) is a well-known and reputed film festival held in Brussels. They do not only organize the body painting contest, but also other film-related competitions. Lynn already participated last year and won the makeup contest. The theme of the contest was Living Paintings, inspired by famous paintings. The artists had the mission to transform their models into classical or contemporary art works of old Masters and bring world famous paintings to live. Lynn has chosen to design a body painting inspired by the famous painting of Dali Salvador: The Temptation of St. Anthony. During the painting, she was getting nervous, because she struggled finishing on time. She only had 4 hours to complete her creation, which is less than at the World Bodypainting Festival and many other competitions she was used to. Another challenge for her was the paint she wasn't familiar with. The festival had an ongoing sponsorship with a brand whose paints have a different texture and coverage. The use of own brands were not allowed. At the final stages she managed to cover the whole body, but took too much time on the front of the model's body without enough details on her back. At the end of the contest, all models were sent backstage to a photographer. Those final pictures were handed to a jury to judge each painting on the quality, idea and interpretation of the theme. Unfortunately this time Lynn didn't get a price, but she had a lot of fun painting and enjoying the event. inspired by Salvador DALI "The Temptation of St. Anthony" (1946) Bodypainting by Lynn Schockmel Model: Anne Chantraine photo by Marco Mazzini Head Piece by Rosa Cruz Credits:
