In October 2019, the Belgrade Fair in Serbia hosted the Bodyart Festival Serbia, organized by Radmila Radman with support from Alex Barendregt of the World Bodypainting Association. The festival featured competitions in various categories, including body painting and face painting.​​

Lynn secured first place with her face painting titled "Human Laboratory." The design presented a cyborg skull face that, upon closer inspection, revealed intricate details: a kneeling cyborg with wings, artificial embryos, and adults connected to machines. The piece explored speculative futures where biotechnology and artificial intelligence redefine human reproduction and identity.

​Images of Vegas acrobats, Hollywood starlets and magazine cover girls’ flashes in our minds when we think of Body Painting. All these seem very hip and contemporary, but contrary to popular belief body painting is an ancient art. If historians are to be believed, body painting is perhaps the first art form practiced by mankind. Enough evidence can be found in the Asian, African, European and Australia cultures to support the claim of body painting being the first art form mankind ever practiced. 

​What comes to mind when you think about body paint? Maybe you think of those days at the carnivals or state fair where you could get your face painted into a butterfly or a tiger. Perhaps you think about tattoos, a more permanent type of body paint. The truth is, though, that body paint comes in multiple forms and styles. This art style provides many ways to express yourself by using your own body as the canvas.
 
But before we got to the modern forms of body paint that we see today, where did it get its start? And how did it grow into the art form that we see today?

Steampunk is a subgenre that incorporates a style of design and fashion combining historical elements of the 19th-century with anachronistic technological features inspired by science fiction.

In Luxembourg you can join one of the most huge Steampunk events: Anno 1900 - Steampunk Convention Luxembourg. Lynn Schockmel got invited to this beautiful event since their first launching in 2011 to create Steampunk inspired body paints in front of the public.

The 3d edition of the Springbreak Luxembourg was held from March 14-17, 2019 at Luxexpo TheBox. 
It was a 4-day celebration and fair around innovation, creativity, respect for the environment and positive effects.
Hundreds of exhibitors, shops and partners have demonstrated their brands with shows, entertainment and live acts.  

At the "Gibraltar Face & Bodypainting Festival",  organized April 19, 2015 by Hamish Dalmedo, Lynn Schockmel who is bodypainting artist based in Luxembourg, beat the competition with her colorful interpretation of the theme "Beyond the seas". The theme of her design was inspired by mythical sea creatures. She also won the poster competition of this festival.

In Luxembourg the Halloween tradition and celebration is becoming increasingly popular in the last few years. The costumes and makeups are usually modeled after supernatural figures such as vampires, monsters, ghosts, skeletons, witches, and devils.

Halloween is always a very busy and successful day for Lynn Schockmel. Each year she enjoys creating zombies, creatures and all that ugly stuff. Her makeup booth is installed at the bar "Rock Box" where she paints each stuff member of the COM1 group bars in the Rives de Clausen. Here is a selection of some creations: 

September 28, 2014 the huge Anno 1900 - Steampunk Convention Luxembourg in Fond de Gras (Differdange) took place again and attracted many people dedicated to steampunk and those who admire this amazing world. 
Like every year, Lynn Schockmel bodypainted a lady in front of the public and transformed her in a steampunk creature.

Lynn Schockmel did commercial Bodypaintings on a female and male model for JIMS Fitness Center in Beggen. Afterwards the models were walking in their painted promotional clothes in the streets of Luxembourg City to distribute flyers of the fitness center. It's an interesting social experience to observe the reactions of the people walking by. Some people don't notice the models being painted, some are surprised and look closer and others are impressed or even shocked. 

Two new articles about Lynn's work at the World Bodypainting Festival 2014 were published in the most-read Luxembourg newspapers: LUXEMBURGER WORT and L'ESSENTIEL. You can also read all other publications about her art HERE.

The World Bodypainting Festival (WBF) is a bodypainting festival and competition which is held annually in Austria. It is a celebration of body painting and the staging of the human body as an art object. The WBF is also an experience space filled with music, shows and experimental performances. The festival is attended by artists from 50 nations and attracts over 30,000 spectators.

Lynn got published again in the local magazine Revue with a long article in German about her bodypainting career.
